self portraits

Self portrait:
I had to take four photos of myself for my final project. I had to take a photo with element, light, prop, and the rule of thirds. I had a lot of fun taking photos for this
Project.

Creativity: For my prop portrait I chose my make- up for a prop. I wanted to capture the sensation of my make-up onto this photo. My ideas did not change from when I first thought of this idea I thought it was great. I think my self portrait was the most creative because I was showing you what was meaningful to me. For my other pictures I could not think of good ideas, that was the most difficult for me. My creativity was not that successful on my portraits.

Composition: I chose to take my photo at the stairs of the stadium. There were no pictures I set up specifically. Yeah there was an accidental picture I really liked it looked like I was kind of depressed I thought it was a really good photo. I really think most of my photos are very weak except for my prop photo. I thought that my prop photo was the best composed photo. I just thought it looked great.

Craftsmanship: I don’t think any of my photos are too bright or too dark they are just right. I don’t think my partner used any camera techniques I think they just came out good. My strengths are where I took my picture’s and the way i faced the camera. I really can not think of the weaknesses are but I know there are some.

Conclusion: My overall opinions of my portraits are that I did not do a really good job on any of them. I think I did well on my prop photo. I would think much harder for what I would do. I really liked the light photo it was awesome. I don’t like the meaningful picture I just look depressed. I love miss cook.

ISO

In the first photo the iso was at 50 and the second photo was on 5000 with the flash. I think it came out pretty good it was not blurry at all.

light metering

For the first photo I metered the computer screen, making the light that came from the screen the standard. that made the screen look normal and everything else was really dark. For the second photo I metered johnny's skin so that he would appear normal and everything was really light.

Metaphor

I chose this metaphor because i felt really annoyed. I was trying to express my emotions. The mood I wanted to capture was annoyed, I do not know if that was a mood but I can not think of any moods right now.

I placed things where they were because i thought that it would look good. my composition is well balanced because i am in the center of the screen. I think my picture feels unified.

I think I did well combining my pictures it does not look that well but it looks pretty good. It was kind of difficult to combine me and the bottle but at the same time it was easy. I think i could have done everything better my picture is not that good. I would change my face expression I do not think I took a very good picture.

The Aesthetic Experience

In this aesthetic experience I thought that it was really amazing how the colors were combining. I really liked how the colors stayed in the center of the cup. The first time she put the dye into the cup it just turned red and I really did not like it but then she put the other colors and it looked really awesome.

Movie Moments

Inspired by Cindy Sherman, a contemporary photographer who took photos of herself starring in movies that never existed.

Movie Title: The Female Star

Genre: Sports

Scene explanation: A young girl named Raquel joins a boys baseball team. Johnny the star of the team does not like the idea of a girl on the team, so he goes and talks to the coach and tells him how he feels and the coach says " if you do not like it then you can quit the team." So johnny quit the team and went to the rival team and we had to play eachother and johnny's team lost and he was devastated so he decided not to play baseball anymore. Raquel went on and got famous and johnny did not.

Chocolate Frog

For valentine's day we turned frogs into chocolate frog. I thought this project was really awesome because it looked like actual chocolate I kind of wanted to eat the frog but it looked all melted so then i didn't want to anymore.

Shadows and Reflections

In these exercises we learned how to create shadows and reflections to help us create more realistic artwork. A new tool we learned was layer masks. -The things we learned here can help me in the future by allowing me to create more creative photos.

Aged Photo

In this project we used one of our frame photographs to practice using photoshop to create specific effects.

Balance with Frames

In this project we were given a frame. We had to use it on our composition. We also had to be in our photo, but not in the center.

It was to be in black and white, and we needed to create a sense of visual balance.

I created balance by centering everything.

Random Object

We were each assigned a random object to photograph. We could choose to have it in color or black & white. we were to focus on "The Three C's"

According to my peers, one thing I did well was that the colors and lighting seem perfect.

One thing they suggested I work on was the lighting they said there was too much sun inthe picture.

I agree with what they said because there was a little too much sun in the picture i thought that messed up the picture a lot.

my favorite project from last semester

In this picture i had to have no balance. This picture is my favorite because I like how the frames were slanted and how the camera was to the side and finally I love how it is in black and white.
